Last fall, this little anole moved into this birdhouse. As winter arrived and night temps got colder, he turned black with stress. I carefully put mulch thru the hole so that it might have cover in there. He made it through some very cold nights. I added a few bugs from time to time. Then the spring storms came and knocked the birdhouse to the ground and broke it. I was sure my buddy was gone, but weeks later I put it back up after repairing it. Today, much to my surprise, the lizard was back.
