kstatenupe wrote: Hello All, We just had our concrete slab poured in our backyard. I want to border it with a conc paver border. Our privacy fence borders 2 sides of the slab, and is 3 feet away on those 2 slides. Along the fence, the height of the slab goes from 4" to existing ground to 17" above existing ground (in the corner). Since this border wont get any traffic here is what I want to do. 1 - I want to run pressure treated planks along the fence to to keep the soil from seeping through the fence slats and run it high enough so that it is level with the slab. 2 - Fill the trench with soil, and compact it thoroughly. 3 - Add about an inch of sand and compact that (i think) 4 - Place 12"x12" pavers. I have heard from people that I need to add some type of aggregate. Do I need to do that even though it wont receive any foot traffic? What about drainage? The entire backyard drains to the corner. Would I have to worry the soils under the pavers eventually eroding away? Thanks for taking a sec to read and reply. If I am missing anything, let me know. I have attached 2 pics so you can see the project area. Thanks KState |
