Last winter we got a weird wind that blew one the self-opening windows open, lifted one of the panes out, and flew it about 10 feet away where it landed impaled in the snow on end. (without breaking!) It was in there so hard, we had to break the ice around it before we could lift it out. They are just used sliding glass door panels that we got at a yard sale or something.
