DonnieBrook wrote: That's terrific, Marilyn and Bill! There are stones a-plenty here. Do you guys recall the tall cairn of stones that Hank "built" in the front yard near the road? Since we've been back, we've had someone coming in the night to knock it over. The first night, the tire tracks pulled up to the yard there; he (??) got out and knocked the whole thing down and drove off. Hank rebuilt it and he came back in the night again, but only knocked off the top half, probably because he's a wimp and the bottom half is mega-heavy. Hank decided not to play the game with him, so he did not rebuild it. There have been numerous break-ins on the road since we left and since we've been back, mostly stealing copper pipe. We have decided we don't want to encourage any mischief here, so we'll let him think he won the game. lol Here's a shot of the cairn taken last summer when the son of one of our friends was posing before they left. Looking forward to the gathering! It's a bit early to put up FOOD and PLANTS threads just yet, but I'll post links to those in a couple weeks. Does anyone want any tall Ostrich Ferns, lily of the valley, heliopsis, pachysandra, evening primrose or hemlock tree seedlings? I always have plenty of those we can pot up, but will also take a look at other things I might have to share once the rain stops long enough. Louise |
