I have made a decision, I am not going to look for him anymore until I hear him pounding on a tree trunk, or hear his laugh. I just went out and went to two trees where I was sure he was, and of course it got darker and I couldn't see that good, so he could have been above me and I would not have been able to see him. Maybe when it gets warmer and the days are longer I can look somemore. Mean while the Downies, and the Red bellied woodpeckers provide excellent photo opportunties. Here is Mama scoping out her domain on our Cottonwood tree, they seem to be on that tree quite a bit.
