Teddy, Mrs Ed is right. I have a terrible time with raccoons here where I live. They broke one bath, and several feeders too! I just used the top part and set it on paver/stepping stone on the ground. It has not been useable the past few weeks due to cold. But I was getting a lot more birds because of it! The raccoons still came and used it at night so it was usually dirty and had to be changed every morning. But is is so worth it!

Edited to add...the titmice didn't seem to use it and the cardinals were very leary of it and only used it very early or very late in the evening.
