With the first hints of winter chill in the air it is time to join our bird friends in preparing for winter. Before you know all the pics will be taken thru the window because it is too cold to go outside and look. That is when I am especially thankful for the abundance of birds that make their home nearby and come visit the feeders. Even if it is just juncos and finches and the bounty of cardinals that brighten up a winter's day!

Of course I have lots of woodpeckers here which I love.

Speaking of woodpeckers, this quite wonderful female Pileated has come a couple of time this week. So we know that made me very happy!! I was quite thrilled when she showed up on Thursday which was a very nice day with good light!
