I dug down below the garlic bulb, seperated the flowers and had to just dump the dirt across the road to make sure I didn't replant it. I am almost out of compost, but I got the long hole filled in. I could kick myself for NOT getting a picture, before and after!! In spite of it all, I re-planted almost everything and found places for the extras. I'm working on three beds at once and do a bit on each every day. I mixed a lot of wheelbarrow's of dirt from the planting holes, with compost, peat and lime. I also turned manure under in the garden. That was ''the camel that walked on my back and almost put it out.'' I came in and took an aspirin and walked carefully till I felt it working. By out, I mean pulling the muscle so you either can't sit, or stand. For me it was sitting. So, aspirin every day, stirring up a witches brew of dirt with a shovel. I'm in a pretty good place right now. I'm cramming a summer into two weeks of good weather! I hope you are off doing as you please! We did take one day off and took the Grandkids to Wild Cat Den State Park, about a half hour from here. It was a good day! The oldest is in that ''don't want my picture taken'' mood. Here's me and the youngest. |
