My neighbor has fields of it and sells it in the Fall and Winter when the leaves are off of it. He sells bunches of sticks of it in Phila. and NYC. I got mine in my Easter Flowers from my kids this year. I keep my cut flowers for a week or more because I change their water, etc. and they are usually fresh cut so they last a good two weeks if I am lucky. Within those two weeks, this stick that was in the bunch rooted. I put it in a pot and this is what I got. I realized then, that it is the same willow that he grows and sells. You guys may be interested in something like that if you have room and want to sell to florists. I do not know the name of it. I will look it up if I can and find out what it is, unless of course you guys already know, then tell me. The sticks look like grapevines, but are not of course. It is hard to see because it is on my back deck but it is so pretty and so tall I hate to throw it away. I may see if it survives in a pot over the winter. Maybe I will even put it inside the barn. No room in the GH. |
