My coleus container.. w/ basil..a tomato is just off to the right .. I always think of triming them both back.. but this year I did it early.. to keep them somewhat in bounds.. 3 or 4 of the planters house basil.. I'd like to make 52 packets of pesto for the freezer.. from my basil.. garlic... olive oil.. and grated Parmisan cheese.. and have one a week till next year...
Helpful Note :.... I used to put the pesto in a baggie and roll it up... ..but in useing it i'd have to heat it up to melt it... which changes the make up of the grated Parmisan cheese in it... then I got the ,for me.. ground breaking idea.. the next year I put the pesto in a baggie as before... but press it flat and stacked this way in the freezer... filling up the baggie.. when I open it to use.. it's about like a 5" x 5" thin sheet of frozen pesto.. I just drape it over the pasta... and it instantly melts ready to eat...
Most of my planters are now 2" or on this one 1 1/2" builders foam from HD or Lowes.. cut and screwed / glued together .. and covered with an acrylic stucco..
