I harvested some seed pods off this tree next door. It is a Magnolia but not our normal desert magnolia. She is not a gardener. She is an Attorney and her husband is a Cardiologist and all the have is a couple of mow and blow guys. They are Asian and I do know they special ordered it but she does not remember from where. This tree is 8 years old, over 15 feet tall and is in its second bloom. It has the short block wall on one side and the pavers driveway on the other. Gets full sun 75% of the time.
