These are completely normal and roots would form from these areas if a cutting is made or some Hoya species grow air roots from these places. I attached a pic of some pubicalyx 'pink silver' stems with these root nubbies. H. compacta can be a very sluggish, slow and sporadic grower. It may take several month for newer cuttings to put on additional growth. Not much you can do about it, just keep well watered, warm and humid. Good luck ;) Milan |
