Yours are so clear and sharp! That Red-bellied Woodpecker is really pretty. I feed them peanuts and raisins which they seem to like. I love Carolina Wrens too. My bird book says they are one of our most abundant birds and year round residents. I hear them sometimes but usually don't see them except in late winter/early spring! I a Wren at one of the feeders this morning but it was fast and I couldn't tell if it was a Carolina although I thought they were insect eaters and not seed. I didn't have any mealworms out, just seed ... but maybe there were ants or some other insect around the feeder. I didn't have the camera when I was out in the yard this morning but hopefully I will get a picture of one soon! I've never seen starlings so I guess they don't come this far south? I will have to google and read about them. The look on that Mockers face is so cute ... that is a great picture! pelletory: Is that little bird a Dark Eyed Junco? It's so cute but it is lighter in color than photo's I've been seeing. Methodical: Love those Ducks! Do you live on a lake? The Ruddy Duck is interesting looking but I really think the Ring Necked is pretty. That look on the male ducks face sure is funny ... his lady left him! Burn: Is the bird in your first picture a Starling? Cute little Black Capped Chickadee. Aaah, the Blue Jay, one of my all time favorites. I could watch their antics all day! The ones here love when I put Peanuts in the feeders! The color on your Blue Jay is so pretty, more white than the ones I see here and it makes that blue head really stand out! Is he a regular at your place? Sorry to hear about the little fella having an eye infection but glad to know it's healing! I don't know if this is a Common Grackle or a Crow ... I can never tell them apart although I know the crow is larger. |
