Mothers German potato salad

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

6 Slices bacon
6 cups cooked potatoes, diced
2 Tablespoons Miracle Whip
1/3 cup bacon grease
1/2 cup onion, chopped small
3/4 cup celery, chopped
2 teaspoons of salt (maybe less)
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar

Fry bacon crisp, remove from grease. When cool, crumble.
Use 1/3 cup bacon grease, saute 1/2 cup onion & 3/4 cup celery in the bacon grease.
Add to this mixture, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/3 cup sugar,1/4 cup water, 1/2 cup vinegar. Stir each as you add them, cooking on low heat.
Mix MW into potatoes, add bacon, then pour sauce over and blend together.
Heat before serving.
Makes 6-8 servings.

Don't overeat, it is very tastey!
