She approaches the chick and then seems to peck at the feathers on its back a few times. It doesn't seem to be an aggressive gesture and doesn't coincide with the chick having been fed, where there may be remnant scraps of food on its feathers - the feeding is a leisurely and quite genteel procedure (not for the poor fish).
