And a closer view of Colin's catterpillar - cement stepping stones.
What was done:
The area on the edge of the canal has landscape fabric with mulch on top. There were a lot of roots and stumps in that area so instead of digging them up and causing eroison of the canal bank I covered it. Hoping to keep the poison ivy out. Some of the area was OK for planting shrubs and perennials and put in garden beds. I dug up the area where the grass is and sowed the grass seed so it can be mowed to keep the weeds down. The grassy area is the pathway to the canal so Jenn can put her kayak in the water. Then for the path down the slope I used bark mulch. Jenn has built a foundation for the shed out of 2'X2' cement patio blocks. That does not show in any of the pics. She was pulling out roots in that area when she was digging and got poison ivy on one of her hands very badly. I'm hoping no one else will get poison ivy again cause it is either covered with landscape fabric and mulch or in a place where we will not be digging. When it sends up new shoots it will be shot on sight - with Round-up!! Eleanor
