plantladylin wrote: I wonder, can bloom color vary with different cultural conditions? I have three pubicalyx, one received in the 2008 DL order, 'Royal Hawaiian Purple'. The other two were received in trades and one of those was labeled Silver Pink, the other unknown. None of them have bloomed yet, I'm still waiting patiently, LOL. Geesh ... talk about names! I just found pubicalyx 'Pink Silver' in Plant Files: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/57670/ and I see it is also known as Silver Pink, Silver Prince, Silver Knight, Splash, Appaloosa, and Gray Lady! No wonder there's so much confusion, it sure would be easier if they stuck with just one name. Here's a picture of mine side by side. The foliage on all of them look alike to me, with the exception of 'Royal Hawaiian Purple' which has such pretty dark red coloration on the new leaves. I can't wait to see signs of buds and blooms on mine, whoever they are! |
