Beginner Gardening: Japanese Maple Seeds, 1 by _Nadine

We have a smaller Japanese Maple tree. I searched online to see if I could find the name and it looks similar to a Inaba Shidare. It just started dropping seeds which I've never seen before but we have only lived here a few years - maybe I missed it. I was excited to see that one has taken root but wonder if I can do something with all the seeds. I put some in dirt and a few in water (have no idea what to do!). I would love to raise a few of these from seeds. Is it possible for a newbie like me?

Also, I broke off a branch yesterday and wondered if it was possible to get a cutting or is it too late for something already off the tree?
