We went to a 4 local nurseries and got some great plants including a lot of veggie starts, as I failed miserable this year with mine. I still have a few annuals to get and I have a few things on the Big Wish List to look for, but nothing that is a must have....well, not until I see one that instantly becomes a must have! I will list them when I get them entered in my journal. Victor, either the rabbits or the deer , though it looked more like deer, destroyed most (7) of my hellebore last winter in early Feb all in one night. Most have recovered well, but I am going to move some of them to behind the deer fence in the fall. The only one they didn't chew on much was the oldest and biggest one. This collage shows some of the damage to 3 of them and then the one they didn't eat back to nothing in bloom in March. I do love them and was shocked that they got eaten. Hope the critter had a wicked tummy ache! I forgot that lavender was on the deer resistant list so I think I will divide some of mine and move to a bed that could use them that is outside the fence. Thanks for the thought. Patti |
