OMG, OMG you guys! Unbvelievable!!!

I spent a couple of hours cleaning up with the broom, blower and my fingers, of course. When done I started watering my patio potted plants and got to the big iron pot with my rose tree in it, ajuga on the soil, finch socks'n stuff.

I'm quietly sprinkling the surface and heard a noise, kind of a deep-throated hum. You know where I'm going with this, don't you?

There was a dark little hummer with a green sweater flitting about the water as it left the nozzle and approached the soil. OMG! There's that brazen little guy wanting water out of my hose. After a couple of minutes, unsatisfied, he stopped and sat on the pot edge and I tried to gently approach him with the water and he flitted over to another landing spot and sat there. Waiting, waiting, waiting. So I quietly set the water down, letting it run, and went inside to get a couple of little bowls so as to provide a safer encounter for him. He flew about a bit as I approached, but left before I got them on the ground.

I just couldn't stand there forever watering that rose in a pot, afterall. Darn! Water was running out the drain holes I have drilled 12 inches up the side. I mean . . . . So I just left the little bowls in the soil and will go about my day [bummer].

I'm going to drag the feeders inside and clean and refill them now. I've seen one daily, late afternoon, at the feeders and knew I had one around.

But . . . what a brazen boy/girl! YIPPEEEEE!
