Tropicals & Tender Perennials: Is this a specfic plant or any epiphyllum can gro like this?, 1 by nomosno

I have seen other arrangements in San Diego (cactus growing over a gate on a trellis, etc) so it clearly can grow big and climb tall. But how does one make it happen?
