IrisMa, nope, not in my pocket. Go backwards in your mind. I once left mine in a book that I returned.

Flowerjen, thanks, we have time now that mostly retired. We planted that V. carlesii back in the early 80's and it was not in a bed for many years. I encroached upon it. I am about to do it again from the backside.

Thanks Ge1836, That is one shrub that does it's "thing" almost unaided. I just have to remember not to prune it except immediately after it blooms. I mistakenly cut it one fall late and had no blooms in the spring. Too dumb. I like it best just before it opens up when it has that pinkish color. The rest of the summer it is just a green blob, but a good back drop. The dogs like to sleep under it.

Wha, They all sounded wonderful I ordered 'glowing embers' because it is suppose to have "wide-spreading habit". I think Greer has one that I would like to plant in my JMaple bed
Quoting:Hamamelis vernalis ‘Lombard’s Weeping’ — Kinky flowers are composed of petals, orange-red at the base, becoming more orange at the tip, encircled by a red calyx. These blooms are often in competition with remaining beautiful blue-green foliage. A small shrubby tree that grows 5-6' tall with many branches cascading to the ground. Blooms in early January-February. 2-3' $29.95

Victory probably has that kinky one already. Patti
