My H shepherdii came from a trade last spring and it's doing well, just very, very slow in growth! I usually keep it out on my pool deck but we had a few nights of freezing temp's where it got down into the 20's so the hoyas have been inside for about three weeks now. It's warm and humid here most of the year and so far shepherdii seems to be okay with the conditions. I use a garden hose to spray all of the plants on the pool deck a couple of times a week, during the spring, summer and fall. My Hoyas have been growing dry for the past two months ... I am lazy during the winter months so my plants get neglected and sometimes go four to five weeks without water. I know, I know ... not a good plant mom, but they don't seem to be suffering. They have to be pretty tough plants to put up with me!

I took this picture this evening of H. shepherdii hanging from the curtain rod in the guest room. It is planted in a small plastic pot that is sitting down inside the plastic hanging basket.
