This baby loves the heat she was grown in full sun the whole time. She grew 11' tall and now finally has bloomed. Recently I had to move the plant because she was in an exposed area of the yard and subjected to all of the wind storms we have had this winter...and they have been really bad this year. I moved her a bit late however so the calyxes on these buds dried out completely. She is in a more sheltered location now so I'll have to wait for her next flush to judge the calyx. This is the first day of opening so I have no Idea if the skirts will drop down. I'll just have to wait and see. Tonight I'll break out the ladder to see what the fragrance is like. The blooms are a nice size and have a thick waxy corolla making them very solid flowers. The color on all my blooms right now is pale so it would be unfair to make an assessment on what the true color will be like the rest of the year. All in all I am pleased on how this cultivar has thrived. She is a vigorous and healthy tree and if she continues to put out blooms as solid as these I will be very happy with this cross I have made.
