So Alan, those 2 will not self pollinate? Maybe it would find its own pollen. LOL. I know my arborea selfs almost every bloom though my big sang rarely had pods on it. If you could get seeds, you could make a mint. I would sure pay a premium for them. Good luck on your hybridization program. Very cool indeed.

Oh Gordon, it did not really die from natural causes. When it got virused I cut it down. Though truthfully I was going to cut it down then anyway because it was so huge and took up too much of my yard as well as my neighbor's yard for it draped itself over the fence I realized when I did cut it down. Sangs tolerate the winter cold much better than regular brugs so it rarely had winter dieback. It would just keep growing and growing. My weather is perfect for sangs, etc. My arborea can flower all winter. It now towers over my house having grown up thru many other plants to reach the sun. I am about to cut that one down too if I ever get around to growing out some of its seeds. That is one I never want to be without because of its scent.

Anyway, I lied, the trunk was over 2 feet across. I just searched it on here, I knew I had a pic. From 2002. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/303735/#post_36945

Pretty ugly, huh? LOL
