I have some in reg. planters and they did the same as the ones in these... still alive and grew some... but not that much the impatients, coleus, torina, monkey flowers, trailing lobiela and that violina .... all did well... the torina is the smallest though... but I dead headed and it just keep blooming I am kind of disappointed withe the osteospermum I grew from seed... it still has not bloomed... the plants look great but nothing yet dead heading the petunias and the million bells.... really did keep them from getting straggly... If I remember right last year at this time I was bummed out the baskets looked so yucky I had to go look.... yes it was early in August http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3826166 I am glad I used less of them this year... and more of the coleus and wandering jews... now that I know my sunny spots can be coleus friendly ... I plan on using more next year the trailing strawberry has run circles around all the other trailers....the photo only has two 12" baskets... the trailing strawberry is sooo big it's even covering up the hellebore that is planted in the ground... I will post two photos of these baskets at planting time... I can't believe how big they got edit - i had the wrong name of the coleus This message was edited Aug 23, 2008 7:54 AM |
