You did a great job of rescuing that begonia. It sure looks like B. 'Lucerna' - an oldie goldie. This was my first cane begonia and I still have it after 34 years.

I have neglected mine but it continues to grow. I laid some of the old stems horizontally in an aluminum pan (my favorite propagating tray) a year or two ago and several new stems came up at the nodes. Here is a picture of it before I cut the tops to start a new pot. Rain made everything shine in this picture.
