Texas Gardening: Texas bluebells, how to dead head, trim, 1 by geraniumkid

I have plant that was sold as a Texas Bluebell at a local nursery here in Southern California. I'm looking for advice on how to dead head, trim, etc. The plant produced many blooms during June and July. I'm thinking that it may be toward the end of its blooming season. I also don't know if it is an annual or perennial. I will include some pics just in case the plant was mislabeled. The flowers are actually more purple than blue. Thanks for any advice that you can give me on how to keep the plant healthy.
