Ok, back from the shop. Filled up the new nest with nesting material, looped a dark colored monofilament line thru the top ring, set the new nest next to the chicks. She's still feeding them and not attacking me, though she watches me intensely. Next step is to let her continue to feed them for awhile and get used to associating the nest with her chicks... then raise up the nest next to the old nest with the chicks, - it should work.

Because I don't want to pick up 4 dead dried up birds from my garden tomorrow Ge1838. I guess its the same reason we try to save beached whales & dolphins and sometimes they save us...
