After a little bit longer it woke up and flew off. Thanks for the tip on cleaning! It's a huge battle once it gets going. I had it where I could spray it with a sharp stream and it would come off but it got thicker. So letting it dry out is not good? I take the top off, scrub it, spray it and let the sun bake it for a while. Maybe that's not helping my situation? I get red and green algae in my cement bird bath too. I'd try bleach but don't want it getting in my beds. One thing that does work, but not long in my heat, is putting about 5 bright copper pennies in it. Here's my grumpy looking baby Barn Swallow. |
