Trees, Shrubs and Conifers: Chestnut or Chinkapin, 1 by claypa

The leaves are bigger than the descriptions I see for Allegheny Chinkapin , Castanea pumila, but I have a hard time believing they're American Chestnuts, Castanea dentata, the only likely candidates for Maryland on the USDA site. No visible ancient stumps or anything like that. I was able to take some decent pics of the flowers
