I have always had a bit of trouble getting it to settle in and grow, but our site is sloping and dry and these characteristics may impact their growth habit. This year was the first year I've had a really good showing of them. I think if you have well prepared soil and are prepared to provide at least one inch of water each week and more in hot weather, the white will grow very well for you. If you put one small plug plant on a 12 inch circle now, you should be more than happy with the coverage next spring. If it is a robust grower in your garden you can always dig some and share it with others, too. I'm not sure if that answers your question, but sometimes learning by trial and error is the only way to go! |
