77sunset wrote: Hello Mimi. i just went out and took a couple of pics to show the epis at the moment. Here, they won't flower until around October. but one of the German Empress plants has put out 2 flowers. The first pic is of some of the pots on floor of epi house under the benches. They are all either small seedlings or rooted cuttings. Most came with the collection but I can't bear to throw away plant bits , so have potted them. I'll have to stop doing that or I'll have no room left at all. It's hard to see through the shadecloth, but there is now another shadehouse on the end of the large epi house. The epi house is around 24 feet long and the new part which will be for my ferns , is another 20 feet long. Hubby says I have to stop or there will be no room to even get the car in the yard. How can a gardener stop ?? I love that pic of yours. Some of mine were so long they were breaking off. I cut eveything right back very hard and you can see the results. They are as big now as they were before I cut them. The difference is , the new growth is nice and green and healthy. I hope to have lots of flowers this year but whether they will flower on that new growth or not, I'll have to wait and see. Happy gardening, Jean |
