Marylyn_TX wrote: Hi, Honey! Round ups are very relaxed and fun. I'm glad you're planning on going! Most people bring their plants in pots, either transplanted from their garden or rooted from cuttings. (And "pots" is a loose term.. I've hauled them there in buckets from the dollar store and old yogurt cups. Whatever works. :-) ) There are no plants for sale. You can list what you have for trade on the trading thread (http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/820103/) and then ask people for things that are on their list. Or you can just show up! You don't HAVE to bring anything to come! Well, bring an empty trunk, cuz you WILL be bringing stuff home, whether you expected to or not. :-) People bring extras of whatever they have, and as you wander around the tables, they will explain to you in detail exactly why you need this plant. And they're usually right! :-) We usually have a snacky finger-food kind of lunch. Always yummy. :-) I haven't seen a sign up list for it yet, but I may have missed it. (I can't come this spring. Boo hoo!) There are a number of motels in the area. I stayed at this one 2 years ago, and it was very nice and very close to the park: http://www.qualityinn.com/ires/en-US/html/HotelInfo?hotel=TX... Some other folks stayed in other motels, and maybe they can give you their recommendations. I hope that helped.. You will have fun. :-) Everyone is very friendly and love to laugh. :-) This is a random group shot from last year. It must have been fairly early in the day, because we had a lot more plants in there later on! LOL |
