dmj1218 wrote: Mitch, Here's one for your future article of Iris oddities... Little background here. Last Sept or Oct I traded with a "northern" (think Oregon) friend in the LA Iris society. He wanted some varieties from the Louisiana hybridizers, I wanted some he had I didn't have. Fall is very busy for me so I threw these in one of these pots with no holes (I use them sometimes for some aquatic loving crinum species) right up next to the back door (complete shade, year round). I figured if I had to almost trip over them every time I wanted in the back door I'd get them planted pretty soon--well, we all know how that goes; right? I have managed to keep about 3" of water in the bottom. ;) I opened the back curtains this morning as I wait for it to warm up a bit before getting to work. I said to myself, "do I see, what I think I see?". |
