I purchased the cuttings last summer, a few didn't take root, other did, only to die in the makeshift-gh recently. Then another generous DGer sent me a few more cuttings (before the Holidays) including Vixen, MEM, MM, all survived but MM and DD. What's with the double-letter brugs? Oh, Whiskers too, this morning I found it's devoid of leaves, and became smooshy from the tip down to the cane (as appose to rot from the base). I trimmed the water-log tip off and keeping my finger crossed. I now have the skeletal of MM (as seen here) to "day dream" about a better chance in the near future. Kim p.s. I also questioned why, for fellow gardeners in similiar zones, and warmer zones can raise these successfully, and I failed? I did switch the type of potting soil recently, could that soil be too "water-retaintive"? I'm thinking-out-loud here, perhaps some of you'd have a diagnose for the problem?
