dmichael619 wrote: to re pot a hoya!!!! For quite some time I found it near about impossible to re pot some of my larger hoya plants when they became extremely root bound. The problem wasn't in finding a pot large enough or the right soil mix,it was getting the space between the root ball and the plant filled back in properly with soil when you have a plant that is so large it makes it difficult to put any dirt back into the pot. So one day while re potting a plant my eyes fell upon an empty wal-mart bag that I had left in the gh.A little light came on and said why don't you slip the bag over the plant and let the root ball drop through the bottom of the bag!!!! So I did and now when I have a plant such as the one in the picture that could have and would have made re potting difficult this is the method that I use to pot it up into it's new home. The plant in the pic is H. kentiana and got moved from an 8"basket to a 10"basket today with zero problems and no harm to the plant. |
