Texas Gardening: Penstemon & other perennials?, 1 by podster

Two more that I like are Salvia and Verbena. I have a couple of both and now, another plant has caught my attention ~ Penstemon.

Does anyone in Texas grow it? Which one? And please share your opinion and experience with it...
