Now for your spotted plant these are sap glands usually prduducing a sugary liquid that feeds ants. The ants inreturn help rid the plant of unwanted pest. Your stem and plant looks exactly like the philo I have called crassinervium. Which is a climbing philod with long lance shaped leaves a very wide midvein and sap glands. Here is a pic of the stem of my plant to compare to what you have.
