Last year the plant grew great but the buds continually dropped off. The same thing happened in the greenhouse during the winter. It would set buds but they would blast. Still do not know the cause.
Anyway, this is a delightful plant. The flowers have versicolor parentage. What makes the plant so striking is the flower is small and dainty and a wonderful peach color flower with lime green segment lines.
Flower is 12" long, skirt 3 1/2" - 4" wide, tendrils 1", has 2 split calyx. The flower starts out cream and changes to peach with lime green segment lines. As the flower ages the peach color darkens at skirt and gradients to cream at the calyx.
The only problem found with the plant is that it wants to send up some unvariegated shoots from the rootstock. Some of the shoots are variegated and some not. Other than keeping the unvariegated shoots cut back, does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to reduce the incidences of them?
