Ocala National Forest http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/florida/recreation/index_oca.shtml, right on your way to New Port Ritchie!, was one of our favorite places. We stayed at Juniper Springs Campground although they are plenty to choose from. Our plan was to take the canoe trip down Juniper Creek but the weather took a turn for the worse and we had to cancel. Highly recommend this area - crystal clear water and a ton of stuff to keep you busy in this area.
