UniQueTreasures wrote: Last fall, I hit another "Mother Lode" at Lowe's. I had just gotten interested in Butterfly Gardening. I brought home so many plants that were just perfect for a BF garden for 25 cents each. I planted them into an unused pond form and have really enjoyed them this year. The Buddleia I bought full price, but everything else was a rescue plant. I also got this beautiful Mandevilla for 25 cents at Lowe's. It's taking off this year! The blooms are such a vivid pink that I just love looking at them. We have a wonderful mom & pop style nursery close by called Betty's Bloomers. I set up a spot on Go Gardening for them. http://gardens.com/go/view/6493/ They have many plants that you just hardly ever see at the Box stores and their 4" pots are $1.00. The hanging baskets are $8.00. They have several greenhouses that we can go through to ooh and aah. She takes her own cuttings and has a wonderful assortment of plants. Between Connie and I, the back of Connie's truck is completely full by the time we leave there. Yeah, we're addicted to plants and we like cheap "fixes"! HAHAHAHAHA |
