This bank is full of them and I'm in the process of digging them up. Hope to get it done before they get to high. They did serve their purpose though. The soil,if there was any, was not very good, but these daylilies will grow and spread anywhere. Started with just a few plants from my mother and in the fall we pile our leaves from raking on top of them. As I've been digging them up the soil actually has improved. I will save a couple of plants in memory of my mother but put them futher down the bank. I plan on planting some "real" daylilies in the sunny area. My DH - dear husband doesn't know it but I'm thinking about maybe having some of those trees removed to get some more sun in the yard and onto my flower beds. We've bought a landscape bridge for the top of the bank and I would love to put a clemantis climbing onto that. (Victor has sold me on clemantis with the beautiful photos of his) |
