I am still not sure and all the experts I have shown it to seem to agree they have no idea exactly what it might be. Xanthosomas are a hard group to ID let alone a possible hybrid. The leaves are shaped odd and the back lobes stick up like a dogs ears. When larger the bigger leaves cup up like giant bowles. The stem coloration is different than any other I have seen on Xanthosomas at times the new stems are yellow to pink and compared to all my other species this one seems quite odd. I have not been able to contact my friend in Costa rica. Has anyone seen this form?? It reminds me of colocasia coffee cups but a xanthosoma form. |
