I have been after this plant for a long time. I was lucky enough recently to see it in flower. I have only seen this plant in two collections both were botanical gardens and both kept it in the back area. It is a shingler type plant meaning it will grow flat to the surface of the tree it is attached to. It is found in small areas of the Amazon river growing in the flooded swamp areas. It usually is hanging over water or near water but grown as a epiphyte. I have also found it under the name Strophocactus wittii I am not sure which is more current. I would love to get a piece of this if anyone is growing it. I am not sure why no one seems to have it in any collections. It is a bit more difficult than other Epis but possibly breeding it with others would make some interesting prodegies. If anyone knows a source let me know thanks.
