I will always miss and love Deland, I grew up there so there are times I am very homesick.My house that my parent's willed to me is now gone. The mobile home park called Hawthorne Hills was where my house was. It is a part of me that was still "home" and held fond memories of my parents.I am still waiting to get more information. I am so upset to not only to lose my house but watch on the news and see pictures on the internet of people I went to school with and grew up with . I saw a picture of a lady I went to school with crying over the loss of her mother. It's just heartbreaking.I was planing to go back home to Florida for a visit in March but now I may have to return sooner. I was hoping my trip down was going to be an enjoyable one with friends and family. I really do not want to see my house as rubble. I do not think I could stand seeing it that way. I am thankful that my parents did not have to go through this as it would have just hurt them too much, or have killed them,which would have been harder for me to deal with than them passing away the way they did. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families that were devistated by the tornadoes.
