It looked different than the emerging new foliage, so I opened it up carefully, and inside, there was a harder, shiny thing. Was this possibly a flower bud? I know it would be strange to have one so early on a cutting, but it kind of looks like that's what this was, to me. The little shiny part is about 1/4-inch in length.
