Good going on the Reakirt's Blue. The are supposed to be common down here but I never seem to find one :o(

I know stuff in the fabacea family are supposed to be used but I've never noticed anything using mesquite as a larval host or nectar out here. According to our south Texas caterpillar host list Honey Mesquite is the larval host for Marine Blue and the Long-tailed Skipper. Screwbean Mesquite for Clytie Ministreak and Blue Metalmark. Maybe it's because there are so many Honey Mesquite all over this area that I just don't see butterflies on them or I'm not around the ranch during the brood season???

If anyone is interested...our south Texas NABA website has an excellent larval host and nectaring plant list.
