Clare_CA wrote: Thanks, Kell! Buddy tries to catch flies on the screen door and is always hooking his claws in it, and I have to unhook him! Gabby is a real beauty too. Nearly all my cats have been strays, and I too have wondered what their names were in the past. When Madam found us, we were living in a fairly remote location, and she was so hungry that she ate three cans of Friskee's cat food at one sitting. We knew that she had been around dogs because she didn't mind Duke and Duchess at all and used to hang out with them. After we adopted her, she continually showed her gratitude by bringing us all her catches. Every night, we'd hear the cat door snap, and her low announcement being made. She brought us mostly mice and gophers, but once she dragged a poor squirrel through the cat door and left him in my closet, and we didn't find him until the smell started to penetrate the bedroom. Her nightly hunts stopped when she became the hunted. We had a large white owl hunting on our property at night too, and the owl had babies in a tree of ours, and she tried to grab poor Madam by the head, and her talon broke Madam's jaw. Owls grab their prey and fly high with it and drop it to kill it. Well, Madam managed to survive but had to have surgery and a few teeth pulled. That was quite a tramatic experience, but I nursed her back to health, but she never forgot it, and it took a long time before she wanted to go outside again. I can't understand anyone that intentionally abandons a pet. It makes my blood boil. Great picture, Doris! |
