Xeramtheum is sooo right. I know people in Raleigh NC (zone7) who grow Brugs. I think they are one of the easiest plants to grow. You just water them and feed them and watch them grow. mine freeze back to the ground every year and come up bigger every year. This past winter they had only a small amount of frost damage (they really like a little protection from afternoon sun here in central Fla. so they were at the edge of my oaks) until mid Feb and 2 nights in a row we went down to 23 and were below freezing 7 hours one night and 10 hours the 2nd night.. Left their skeletons until after last frost date cut back everything that wasn't new growth (from the ground-wood freezes dead)and it's well over 8 feet tall right now and will get to 15 feet or more by October.
I love my brugs, I grow over 30 varities and have them planted all over the place.
